Noveltech Audio is a business unit of Noveltech Solutions Ltd and focuses on innovative hi-quality audio processing technologies. Noveltech Solutions is a technology transfer company formed in the year 2000 to commercialize technologies resulting from scientific research in various application fields.
History
Dr. Kauppinen’s desire to overcome the disadvantages of conventional sound-shaping tools led to the development of another invention, the Intelligent Adaptive Filtering (IAF) technology. The first product based on this technology was the CHARACTER™ plug-in, originally released for TC’s PowerCore platform in the following year. It was also the first product branded NOVELTECH. VOCAL ENHANCER was our second product utilizing IAF technology, released in 2006.
The basis for Noveltech Audio’s audio processing technologies are innovative signal processing methods. They were originally conceived to improve the spectral resolution in spectrometers (instruments used for the study of the molecular structure of various gases). Dr. Ismo Kauppinen, applied and further developed these fundamental principles to mathematically reconstruct missing sections in audio signals as his PhD study. As a result, a successful method for reconstruction of missing or damaged audio signals was developed. This technology was licensed to Danish pro-audio company TC Electronic, who released it in 2003 as a part of their RESTORATION SUITE, a set of audio restoration tools for the now discontinued DSP platform Powercore.
With all the native processing power available today, it is now possible to run CHARACTER and VOCAL ENHANCER on Macs and PCs in many popular Plug-In formats such as VST, AU or RTAS. Our native products are sold exclusively by the PlugIn Alliance (http://www.plugin-alliance.com/).
